Higher Education in Prisons [AYC-HEP] Student Ambassador Program

The Andrew Young Center is pleased to announce an opportunity for service and leadership in the Higher Education in Prisons [AYC-HEP] Student Ambassador Program.

The AYC-HEP program supports an annual cohort of 10-12 students at Morehouse to serve as Prison Education Student Ambassadors. Student Ambassadors support the AYCGL’s Higher Education in Prisons Program in the form of assisting faculty teaching affiliates, peer-tutoring, promoting higher education in prisons on campus, attending HEP conferences, participating in reentry services, and assisting formerly incarcerated students who seek to continue their education after they are released from prison. This will be our third cohort of AYC-HEP Student Ambassadors (see here). This opportunity is not open to freshmen.

The application, which is due on July 01, is available here:  https://morehousecollege.formstack.com/forms/hep_ambassador_2024_application. (The roles, responsibilities, and compensation are provided in the introductory section of the application.)

For more information about the origins of the AYC-HEP Student Ambassadors Program, see here; and for more information about the application process, feel free to contact Dr. Kipton Jensen (kipton.jensen@morehouse.edu) or Ms. Marissa Baham (marissa.baham@morehouse.edu).
