Understanding Israel and Palestine: History, Context, and the U.S.

On Thursday, November 2, 2023, the Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership will host a teach-in entitled, Understanding Israel and Palestine: History, Context, and the U.S. The teach-in will include three sessions and take place from 1:00 – 5:05 pm in the Bank of America Auditorium, Massey Leadership Building. Please join for one or all sessions.

  • Session 1 (1:00 – 2:15 pm): The History of Israel and Palestine and Current Conflict. This session will focus on the history of Israel and Palestine, as well as the current circumstances in the region.

  • Session 2 (2:25 – 3:40 pm): Sociological, Political, and Cultural Perspectives on Palestine and Israel. This session will focus on providing context through the lens of multiple disciplines on factors influencing the status of Israel and Palestine.  

  • Session 3 (3:50 – 5:05 pm): Global Leadership and Parallels: Palestinians and Black Americans
