Oumar Ba, Ph.D.
Dr. Ba is an assistant professor of political science at Morehouse and teaches courses on international relations and politics. His primary research agenda is located at the intersection between state power and interests, international criminal justice norms and regimes, and the global governance of atrocity crimes. He is the author of States of Justice: The Politics of the International Criminal Court (Cambridge University Press, 2020). While a fellow in the Institute, Dr. Ba will work on his book project titled "Decentering the Hague: The Crisis of International Justice." He will also give a campus presentation and produce public scholarship on his work. During his first year as a fellow in the Institute, he drafted a manuscript that gives an overview of his new book project, gave a presentation on campus on the International Criminal Court, and submitted an excerpt of his new manuscript for publication. Dr. Ba will serve as an AYCGL Fellow in partner with the Institute for Research, Civic Engagement, and Policy.
