The Diplomat in Residence Program provides Morehouse College with a direct link to the U.S. Department of State. Diplomats in Residence are Foreign Service Officers and Specialists who provide guidance and advice on Department of State internships, graduate fellowships, and careers, with opportunities for U.S. citizen candidates across all fields of study.

Students interested in the Department of State can email Saúl directly at DIRSouth@state.gov and schedule meetings with him at calendly.com/dirsouth or through the QR code below.

Saúl has over eighteen years of experience with the U.S. Department of State. His previous overseas assignments include Bogotá, Colombia; Prague, Czech Republic; Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia; and Lima, Peru. He also had short-term assignments in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, and Mexico, and three domestic assignments in Washington, DC.

Saúl is excited to re-connect with the Morehouse College and Spelman College communities. After his junior year in high school, he participated in the Ernest Everett Just Summer Science program at Morehouse.
