AYCGL Dream Keepers Community Mini Grant Opportunity

The Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership (AYCGL), in partnership with a coalition of community leaders and organizations known as the Dream Keepers, invites Atlanta-based nonprofit organizations, grassroots initiatives, and community groups to apply for Dream Keepers Mini-Grants. These grants are designed to support innovative, community-driven projects that strengthen and uplift neighborhoods across the Atlanta area.

The Dream Keepers Vision is to strengthen community capacity, support local leadership, and foster collaborative solutions that create healthier, safer, and more equitable communities throughout Atlanta.

Mini-grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be awarded to organizations that are working to improve community conditions and advance the well-being of individuals and families. The Dream Keepers initiative recognizes that meaningful and sustainable change is rooted in the vision, leadership, and lived experiences of community members. This funding opportunity encourages organizations to “dream boldly” and implement creative, culturally responsive solutions to local challenges.

Proposed projects should demonstrate the potential to positively impact community well-being. Priority will be given to initiatives that focus on:

  • Mental health and wellness promotion

  • Substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support

  • Youth development and educational access

  • Economic empowerment and workforce development

  • Community safety and violence prevention

  • Housing stability and neighborhood revitalization

  • Programs addressing social determinants that influence quality of life and opportunity

  • Justice Impacted/Returning Citizen Services

Organizations must demonstrate strong community engagement and the ability to implement proposed activities within the grant period. Eligible applicants include metro Atlanta-based nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations and grassroots initiatives, and collaborative partnerships serving Atlanta communities.

Organizations selected for funding will be expected to:

  • Participate in a Dream Keepers Grantee Convening to share ideas, build partnerships, and exchange best practices

  • Submit a mid-project progress report describing activities, successes, and challenges

  • Submit a final report summarizing outcomes, lessons learned, and community impact

The Grant Proposal Deadline is March 15, 2026.
