This exciting event was hosted by the R2ISE Theatre and honored first responders, medical personnel and other frontline heroes through the arts. The event took place in the Ray Charles Performing Arts Auditorium and was free and open to the public.

Jeanine D. White received the IES Abroad Professional Development Award at the IES Abroad meeting held in Chicago, IL, on October 12, 2023.

AYCGL Experiential Education Programs for 2023-23
This programming will facilitate the integration and application of classroom content, deepening students’ understanding of the history of Black people in the U.S., including enslavement, tools of oppression (Jim Crow, lynching, etc.), mass incarceration, as well as exposure to the culture, resistance, and leadership of Black people in the United States.

Financial Awards for Studying Abroad
The Andrew Young Fund for International Scholars will award up to $2400 to support students participating in faculty-led study abroad programs and up to $1400 to students participating in semester-long study abroad programs. Students planning to study abroad are encouraged to apply for the award. Delta Airlines’ support of study abroad at Morehouse has been critical to the development and implementation of study abroad programs at the college.

OWSP Day of Service
On Saturday, September 9, 2023, Oprah Winfrey scholars participated in their first OWSP community-wide service project for the 2023-24 academic year. Scholars served at the King Center’s Beloved Community International Expo, assisting with setup and breakdown, registering guests, and supporting this community-building project.

Morehouse College Welcomes New Department of State and USAID Diplomats in Residence
The Diplomat in Residence Program provides Morehouse College with a direct link to the U.S. Department of State and United States Agency for International Development. Diplomats in Residence are Foreign Service Officers and Specialists who provide guidance and advice on internships, graduate fellowships, and careers, with opportunities for U.S. citizen candidates across all fields of study.


MLK Day of Service - The Oprah Winfrey Scholars Program
The Oprah Winfrey Scholars completed their Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service working with the King Center. Scholars supported and participated in the King Day Commemorative Service, Voter Registration Drive, and Collection Drive. Scholars spent the day in service to the community and collaborating with our partners to serve the community and learn the skills needed to become ethical leaders.
